The Turval and the Grobble began as an exercise in long narrative poetry.  I had visions of The Lady of the Lake, hence the cantos, and of  Paradise Lost, but only because it was long, and The Jabberwocky because it was comical.  So, I began with the scenario and worked on the poem to eventually publish it in soft-back form.  I have since added a prologue to it and have plans to tell the tale much more deeply in the future.  In the meantime copies can be purchased from the website at £3.50 plus postage and packing.  For a preview click here to read Canto One

 

Star Reach  is book one of a series telling the story of  the colonisation of the planet Alpha Three in the Alpha Centaurii system.    It is the tale of Jacob, Carmel and Rachel Morris and their struggle to be part of the Star Reach mission.  Set against a background of conflict between Fundamentalist Christianity and Rationalist Atheism in a world recovering from famine, the Morris’s also have to deal with the fanatical Alister Korner whose mission is to purge the Earth of sinners.  Their fate and the fate of many is held in the balance by the actions of a young Arab boy seeking a peaceful solution to the Holy One’s devastating Jihad.   It is a story of personal sacrifice, intrigue and determination that explores the taboos of incest, mind control and the devastation of war.
